They also typically qualify for a larger loan with a longer term, since commercial real estate is a fixed asset that usually does not depreciate in value over time.

However, the exact terms and conditions for this type of funding varies from lender to lender. Make sure that you get all of the details, and ask as many questions as you deem necessary — especially in regards to processing time. Remember: the only bad questions are the ones that you do not ask!

Your credit score might matter a lot — or hardly at all.

Some lenders — such as banks — insist on excellent personal and business credit scores.  However, other lenders look at multiple sources of information to assess a borrower’s reliability.
